In addition to that our local news the national organization The Garden Club of America (GCA) presents a wealth of information as well.
The Garden Club of America’s committees on Conservation and National Affairs and Legislation keep an eye on developing conservation issues and federal legislation and regulations pertaining to them. The GCA has adopted position papers on half a dozen topics. These papers form the basis for lobbying and advocacy issues undertaken on behalf of the GCA. History of Orinda's Joaquin Moraga Adobe
Kent Long, President & Chairman of the Friends of the Joaquin Moraga Adobe gave an informative talk about the history of the oldest surviving building in Contra Costa County. Built in 1841 on a land grant from the Mexican government, it was designated as an Orinda City Landmark in 1995. Click here to learn more about its history and restoration.
