Orinda Garden Club hard at work now for future beauty Lamorinda Weekly By Sora O'Doherty

The Beautification Committee Chairs, Lisa Hallahan, Gina Barretta and Sue Andersen-Berger led an unprecedented campaign to brighten up the two areas that our Club maintains: the triangle and the off-ramp. Laden with thousands of bulbs, many of our members participated in the planting efforts on Nov. 8th and 16th. Sue, a Master Gardener, composed the mixture of elements, including several varieties of white daffodils with some yellow and blues tossed in for contrast. This combination will bloom at longer intervals and also ensure greater visibility for drivers and pedestrians. We had the benefit of Sue's gardeners, who helped prepare the ground for easier planting and also removed several older overgrown shrubs and replaced them with appropriate native blooming plants.

Now we just need to pray for rain to bring the bulbs to life and ask for patience as we wait for a spectacular spring showing!
