Grants & Contributions

​The Orinda Garden Club supports community and regional environmental initiatives that strive to improve native habitat, protect the environment, and improve the landscape around Orinda. Over the last 10 years we have donated over $300,000 to causes listed below. 

 

​We also provide scholarships for students in the fields of environmental science and landscape architecture, and donate to local gardens and conservation concerns. ​  Below is a partial list of our major contributions. 

  • The Orinda Community Foundation receives our support in its beautification efforts in the community. 

  • Major grant for the restoration and planting of Camino Pablo medians

  • Donor of Greenhouse installation at Miramonte High School 

  • Donor and organizer of Centennial Tree Restoration of Shoreline Planting  at Lake Cascade

  • Design, planting and ongoing maintenance of Camino Sobrante triangle 

  • Design, planting and ongoing maintenance of Hwy. 24 off-ramp

  • Purchased ceramic planters, plants and continued maintenance of containers at Orinda crossroads. 

  • ​Annual Scholarships to students at UC Berkeley, Merritt College, and DVC. ​

  • Establishment of the David Austin designed rose walk at Heather Farm in Walnut Creek.
