The Story of the OGC

With the mindset of friendship and community, membership in OGC stimulates growth, nurtures design, and teaches respect for the earth.

We often ask ourselves if we are doing enough…to continue to learn, give, share, laugh, conserve, protect, create. OGC Membership offers an answer to this challenge!  Dig into ways to restore, improve, and protect the environment.

The access to important environmental movements, noted speakers, beautiful publications, and inspiring outings by association with the Garden Club of America opens fields of opportunity...to do enough!

Who we are

Members share a love of plants, a thirst for knowledge, and a concern for the natural environment.  We are active and dynamic, working women and working volunteers, diverse yet united by a common love of Mother Earth.

We are eager to learn and eager to share.

Members must be residents of Orinda. Responsibilities of membership include attending general meetings, participating in committee work, flower shows and other special events, supporting community beautification events, and paying dues. Provisional class members have other activities to become well integrated and educated about the joys of giving back and growing with the OGC.

Our Committees include: Beautification and Community Affairs, Conservation and National Affairs Legislation, Horticulture, Flower Shows and Photography.

Seeds of knowlege

Our curiosity is fed by our meetings and speakers. We host public programs with nationally renowned speakers. From soil nutrition to floral demonstrations to the history of the Redwoods forests topics at our meetings educate and entertain us. We are endeavoring to plant seeds of thought for a brighter future.
