The purpose of Orinda Garden Club is educational and charitable and shall be: to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening, to cooperate in the protection and conservation of our natural heritage and to encourage and assist in the beautification of the community

Eligibility

A Candidate is Eligible under the By-Laws if the candidate is:

• A resident of Orinda,

• An active participant in the work of a garden,

• Willing to hold office,

• Willing to cooperate in committee work, and

• Willing to meet the financial, attendance, and participation obligations of membership in Article V of the By-Laws.

Deadline

Sponsorship Letters from two members and two Letters of Endorsement must be submitted along with this completed form to the Membership Chair, no later than March 15. No proposal is accepted after March 15th.

Candidate Information

Co-Sponsors (Two Required)

Co-Sponsors must have known their candidate for at least one year, may only write one sponsor letter per year, must not be on a leave of absence, must not be the President, and must not be a Membership Committee member.

Co-Sponsors must assist their new member in meeting the obligations of membership during the first year of membership.

Letters of Endorsement (Two required)

Letters of endorsement must be written by Active members or Associate members and must not be written by Sustaining members, the President or a Membership Committee member. Actives and Associates may write more than one letter of endorsement per year.
