Welcome to A Spring Garden Stroll
The Orinda Garden Clubs' 2019 garden tour features a look at 5 beautifully landscaped, private gardens in the Lamorinda area. In addition, there is a Marketplace where you can purchase home goods and Mother's Day gifts.
The Garden Tour is a fundraiser that supports civic beautification, scholarships, and other community initiatives. This self-guided tour showcases five unique gardens. Gardens range from spacious, elegant landscaping to well-designed, smaller gardens. Some gardens incorporate sustainability features, such as lawn replacement, low-maintenance drought-tolerant plantings, and outdoor living spaces. Thank you to our gracious and generous homeowners who have opened their gardens to us today for this very special event.
The Orinda Garden Club has worked to beautify the community since its founding in 1937.
Some of the projects that you are helping to support include:
Planting and restoration of the cork oaks ( Quercus suber) around Lake Cascade and installation of a memorial rock and bench
Installation of large plant containers at the Crossroads
Weekly summer bouquets at the Orinda Library
Holiday wreaths around town
Fall scarecrows and pumpkins
Replanting and beautification of median strips on Camino Pablo from Santa Maria Way to El Toyonal.
